Here’s what I’ve loved in knitting this week…
Zucchero, so sweet, Shetland sunset, building to a crescendo, soho summer, and…
Clover leaf inspired lace, this is Thea, and apples at a picnic.
It’s a blanket! It’s an Afghan! It’s both! The tree holding the world together, a blouse for the beauty of the morning, and for when you want long socks.
Finding meaning through knitted stop-motion, how to brighten your community with yarn, and how needle material affects colorwork gauge.
Spinning owls and all the ways you can purl.
Avoiding yarn substitution mistakes, 10 cast-ons for stretchiness, and a knitter’s experience with cotton, silk and linen blends.
Finally! An answer to every knitter’s dilemma. What breed-specific wool is, listen as you knit, and a sweater for a multi-limbed crustacean.
And now… onwards to your weekly What To Knit Next issue!

👀 Last week’s top knitting inspiration: a knitted wrap top for moving around in.
This week’s knitting ideas you can't miss…
Zucchero, so sweet.
‘Zucchero’ is the Italian word for ‘sugar,’ and it’s the perfect description for this delectable shawl. Like wearing a warm and fluffy cloud.
Knitted flat in one piece and includes repeating sections of Beaded Stockinette Stitch and Beaded Diamond Stitch, with a Garter Stitch border on all sides.
Shetland sunset.
This airy oversize cardigan is loosely knitted in Shetland Lace technique.
Its dropped shoulders with shortened rows, a boxy shape and a sheer look, is the ideal companion over a tank top & jeans or with a beautiful summer dress.
Building to a crescendo.
A sweet light and airy summer top with diamond lace motifs. You’ve got the option to start the neckline with ribbing or an i-cord cast on. Same goes for the cast-off edges. Choose from ribbing, tubular cast off or a knitted hem.
Soho summer.
A classic sleeveless summer top with a boatneck style neckline. The overall garter stitch texture is easy to do and quick to knit up.
The suggested yarn is fingering weight held double or you could use worsted weight. The fiber use (65% organic cotton & 35% alpaca) gives a lovely drape.
